Kirstie Webb steps into new role caring for Alderney’s older adults
Alderney's Connaught Residential Home has a new Deputy Care Manager. Kirstie Webb joined the team at the end of last year and has already proved to be an invaluable asset in the care of the Island's elderly.
She came to Alderney from her position as Business Manager for Safeguarding and Community Partnership for Bath & North-East Somerset.
"It's a very varied role covering everything from the care and housekeeping team within the Connaught to looking after and supporting the kitchens and activity teams. I love it," she said.

"The team here is passionate and enthusiastic, with Best Practice the goal for every aspect of the Care Home, including residential and domiciliary care, which makes it a joy to work here."
She and her colleagues are using UK legislation, regulations and standards as they apply to a self-governing Crown dependency to inform their understanding of how this works in a small island setting. With 70 employees, the Connaught is Alderney's biggest employer.
"This is probably the most family-feeling environment I have ever worked in," Kirstie added. "We are all aware of what's going on throughout the whole organisation to maintain or improve the quality of life for everyone in our care."
She works closely with Executive Director of Operations, Liz Bowskill, who said: "Kirstie is an incredible find for us and it already feels like she has been here for a long time, such is her commitment and professionalism combined with her love of people."
Further team announcements are expected in the coming months as the Connaught progresses a dynamic vision for care on an island with one of the world's oldest demographics.
